HESSLE ROAD PRAM RACE 2009

Unfortunately, we don't have many photos of this event due to our photographer having to "guard" some of the prams at the marquee on the carnival field but there are a few for you to see.

First of all, may I thank Jackie and Roy for looking after all the arrangements as far as we were concerned, the meetings, the liaison with Kim Hepple, taking a pram to Boyes for their window display and also liaising with the carnival committee to have a marquee available for our pram display.  Jackie also took the trouble to order and pay for a beautiful banner with The Pram Society printed on it in beautiful gold scrollwork - thank you Jackie, you're a star.     I hope that at future events we will be able to display this banner and then people will know where to come for a look around!

This is Karen who works for Boyes, she very kindly agreed to push a pram with us in the parade so this is a photo of her taking delivery of the gorgeous Millsons!

A very kind lady came to talk to me about the time when she was a Nanny.  She said there was a pecking order when ordering prams, first was the Osnath, then the Marmet then the SilverCross/Wilson.   She has a Marmet Queen of her own from 1964 and showed me a photograph, the Queen is in absolutely pristine condition!  Such a pleasure to talk to someone who loves her pram as much as we do, but as per usual she is thought to be a bit odd!!

We had quite a lot of visitors including the gentleman who instigated the return of the Hessle Road Pram Race, a charming man!
