Are you looking for someone to recover your hood and make a new apron? Well you've come to the right place!!
I am providing a recovering service for old coachbuilt pram hoods and aprons, using the traditional methods of covering by hand and handstitching the fabric to the frame. These days, SilverCross use another method whereby they stitch the cover to the lining and pull the whole lot over the frame but, unfortunately, this method can only be used if your hood fits the dimensions of their pattern. I cut each pattern to fit the shape of the frame and the cover is stretched and sewn into place which is the traditional way of covering your frame, whatever model of pram you have. I also use the traditional hoodlace to compliment the colour of hooding you have chosen.
I use waterproof hopsack fabric which is pretty strong and is available in most colours to suit your pram livery. I can also recover using a mohair type waterproof cloth which is more expensive but obviously is a better quality product. You will find the colours for both types of fabric listed below.
Hopsack colours:
Black
Navy
Olive green
Dark green
Burgundy
Grey
Royal blue
Mohair type fabric:
Black
Navy
Very dark green
Beige
Cherry (lighter red than burgundy)
Dark Cherry (very dark red)

A couple of examples of recovering which I have done recently and here is one in the process of being recovered......
The next hood belongs to an old SilverCross Deauville, from 1950s or thereabouts. It was held together with duct tape when I received it and one of the curved hood supports was very bent and I've done my best to straighten it.

The lining is a very good fabric-backed vinyl which is normally used for the headlinings of cars and boats, but a thinner one can be used if preferred. Green greek-key hoodlace was used to trim the hood, although this is becoming very difficult to find these days.
